The Stanford Theater photo
Malcolm Lewis: Great place to watch classic Hollywood movies. I've seen Some Like It Hot, The Philadelphia Story and It's A Wonderful Life (shows every Christmas Eve) there amongst others. First opened in 1925. In 1987, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation bought the theatre and restored it to its original splendor. The renovated Stanford Theatre quickly became America's most popular place to watch classic Hollywood movies. More people saw Casablanca here on its 50th anniversary in 1992 than anywhere else in America.

Malcolm Lewis: Great spot for New Orleans/Cajun food. Food is good enough and there's tons of ambiance. Lively bar too (http://www.nolas.com/look_i...). Good place to take folks from out of town to.
