Aunt Mary's Cafe photo
Kim LaFleur: Saw this featured on Food Networks: "Diners, Drive-in's, & Dives". If I get up to Oakland, CA for a day--- must try: Pain Perdue & The Southern "Bubble & Squeak". (Note to self: Bring friends so I can try something off their plate too.) ;-)

Infusion Restaurant & Martini Bar photo
Kim LaFleur: Met at Infusion in Ladera Ranch, CA for a business lunch. Ordered the "Infusion Row" salad and I did not enjoy it at all. The ingredients didn't seem fresh at all. It appeared that someone attempted to put the salad together to be visually appealing, but it was not at all enjoyable. My second issue was that the service was sub par. Drink glasses would remain empty until we flagged down someone to refill them and the restaurant wasn't even full. Disappointing.

Church & State photo
Kim LaFleur: I've heard "Church & State" referred to as casually elegant. I just think it's a great place to have lunch when in LA if you're shopping downtown and looking for a great and reasonable spot to have lunch. Nice building. Nice atmosphere. While it's not exactly in the "shopping proper" garment district, it's next to some of the designers / designer warehouses themselves.

The Blue Plate Diner photo
Kim LaFleur: I was visiting my Brother-in-Law & Sister-in-Law where they live near Salt Lake City, UT and they took us to this diner while we there. We waiting about 30 minutes to be seated and the place is truly a 'diner' but all of us thought it was really good. I guess it's one some local awards which makes it really popular and I've read mixed reviews about the place, but my opinion was that if you're looking for a place to get a really good breakfast with a lot of hustle-n-bustle, this would be the place. Menu prices are inexpensive and I also noted they have a lot of vegetarian and vegan menu items as well which seemed to be popular. Art hanging on the walls is all local artists. (Maybe a bit bohemian and that may be why some either love it or don't get it.)

California Pizza Kitchen photo
Kim LaFleur: It's good. Rates right up there with the Olive Garden in terms of commercial restaurants for me.
Malcolm Lewis:
I'm amazed at the popularity of Olive Garden on Fablistic. My one and only experience was bad: bland food and dirty, sticky carpet are what I remember most. Maybe I had a bad experience. It's the #1 restaurant on Fablistic! http://www.fablistic.com/ex...

Five Guys Burgers & Fries photo
Kim LaFleur: Burgers are good and so are the fries. Everyone says they are much better than In-and-Out, but not that much better. In-and-Out is much less expensive.

Fire Sign Cafe photo
Kim LaFleur: Great little restaurant in Tahoe City. It serves a wonderful breakfast / lunch and we always try to make it in when we're in the area.

Great Harvest Bread Company photo
Kim LaFleur: Favorite family fresh bread store. We like the Honey Whole Wheat and Sourdough most days. The kids really love the Cinnamon bread (and of course I do too...). The Jalapeno-Cheddar is a favorite mostly during the Fall and Winter when paired with a yummy soup. Real fresh ingredients and no food preservatives. A low-carb diet nightmare, but I've learned moderation! ;-)

Harbor Fish & Chips photo
Kim LaFleur: In the harbor across from The Crab Shack resides Harbor Fish & Chips since 1969. It's a bit of a dive, but serves up really good Fish & Chips after a hot day at the beach when the air starts to cool and sweatshirts come out. Equally amazing are their Fish Taco's that are enormous. An added benefit is that it is right next to the Harbor Ice Cream Shop for an after dinner dessert!

Pinkberry Yogurt photo
Kim LaFleur: Still my favorite yogurt shop even with all the help-yourself-by-weight yogurt shops popping up everywhere. Pinkberry is good based on simple fundamentals: simple menu; great and consistent product (high quality ingredients--- I can recognize them); good customer service.

The Original Pancake House photo
Kim LaFleur: Okay, okay... I know this is a restaurant 'chain', but they do have amazing pancakes and I love the Spinach Omelette with Swiss (hold the Hollandaise.) Some locations are hit-or-miss (like Las Vegas--- not-so-great.) Temecula's location is quaint, cozy, and good.

Ramos House Cafe photo
Kim LaFleur: Great casual location in beautiful San Juan Capistrano, CA. Amazing Apple Cinnamon Beignets and Wild Mushroom, Roasted Garlic and Sundried Tomato Scramble on the regular weekday menu. Highly recommended weekdays and for a weekend brunch!
