Horrible Bosses photo
Kim LaFleur: Thoroughly entertaining. Could definitely be saved for a rental but the characters were clever and the story line funny.

Kim LaFleur: Great 1960's period story / movie. I really enjoyed the Mississippi scenery. Thought Bryce Dallas Howard (daughter of Ron Howard) who plays "Hilly" did and incredibly good job with her character. Felt it solidified her as a serious actress. Overall, great cast. Good story that can be shared with middle school & high school kids.

Kim LaFleur: Creepy and long. Definitely not a feel-good, inspirational movie.

Kim LaFleur: Really like Julia Roberts and really didn't like this movie. Another one I waited for Netflix on but the storyline was all over the place and the character (played by Julia Roberts) was not interesting or even very likeable. The scenery in this movie was very enjoyable and the best part which likely kept me from turning the whole thing off. Can't recommend. Probably really going against by gender on this one.

An Education photo
Kim LaFleur: Great movie. Waited for Netflix but totally enjoyed it. Background is 1950's London and my first introduction to actress Carrie Mulligan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...) who I thought was brilliant.

Kim LaFleur: Great movie. Christian Bale really got into character (physically) for this role. Mark Wahlberg is great too. Well done. Entire story was interesting.

The King's Speech photo
Kim LaFleur: I had already heard (about 1 million times...) that "The King's Speech" was a good movie. I agree. But I think the things that I liked most about it were: 1) A visual 'walk' into history and the portrayal of the time period as pictured through the set decor; and 2) Geoffrey Rush's character "Lionel". While I thought Colin Firth did a great job as did Helena Bonham-Carter... I enjoyed Geoffrey Rush's character more. Good movie. Highly recommended. Can't wait to see how it does at the Oscar's.

Kim LaFleur: Upgrade to 3.5 Stars. I probably would've given this movie 4 stars if it wasn't so long. It's 111 mins so nearly 2 hours. I enjoyed the movie the first hour but the second hour just seemed to drag on this complicated story and feature some crazy insane special effects scenes. It was a Bruce Willis movie and somehow an "Ocean's 11" type story as well with older R.E.D. agents. (Retired Extremely Dangerous). The cast of characters was great... with my favorite being John Malkovich who I would recommend the movie simply for his character. I think it'll be out on DVD soon, so it's a good rental for sure!

Tron: Legacy photo
Kim LaFleur: Good movie. Surprisingly a good storyline follow-up to the original. Could've done with a little less of Jeff Bridge's "zen" spiritual-ness that he seemed to have conjured up during his several decades on "the grid"... but good movie overall. All three of my kids (ages: 10, 13, & 14) all enjoyed it and have never seen the 1980's version so it was good that it could stand alone. I am no advocate for the 3D movies that are becoming the new norm so we just saw it in 2D. Enjoyed the music by Daft Punk too!

Little Fockers photo
Kim LaFleur: Didn't care for the 3rd in the series of the "Focker" movies. Seemed very forced--- script was working hard to keep all the characters on the screen (ie- Barbara Streisand, Dustin Hoffman, etc...) Of course Ben Stiller takes inappropriate to a new 'inappropriate' level. It's a DVD / Netflix rental at best.

True Grit - 2010 photo
Kim LaFleur: Good movie. Definitely entertaining. I didn't like the ending to this version though. Seemed abrupt. Liked the ending in the original John Wayne better but Jeff Bridges gave a good performance.

Disney's A Christmas Carol (2010 photo
Kim LaFleur: This movie is a Pixar movie (or looks like it was rendered by Pixar or whatever company Disney owns now that is making those...) at any rate, I was extremely disappointed. Jim Carrey is the rendered Ebenezzer Scrooge as is all three ghosts that visit him over the course of the night. The movie is at times grim and even scary and doesn't seem suitable for Disney's target audience (children) --- even older ones. The movie seems to focus on giving more screen time to the animated Carrey than it does telling the overall story. I'm not a Jim Carrey hater, I did like him in "Yes Man", but sometimes he does the same things over and over and in this case, it ruined a perfectly good old story. Like that Disney tried to remake it, don't like the result.

Good to know. Disappointing.

The Runaways photo
Kim LaFleur: I like Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart and I like Joan Jett. But I really disliked The Runaways. The story was poorly written and poorly told. Don't waste your time.

Charlie Chaplin's The Pilgrim photo
Kim LaFleur: Great, clever silent film "The Pilgrim" by Charlie Chaplin. Thoroughly entertaining. I'm enjoying watching these with my 11 and 13 year old children. Each feature is only about 1 hour in length.
