Graham King: This wine was mentioned in the movie Mondo Vino, and you should try it, if only to convince yourself that France can make very good wines outside the AOC system.
Legally this is sold a table wine, because it's not in a protected area. The wine maker is so passionate, and so grumpy in a French way, he's built up a following, and this is a pricey number.

I had the 2005 red. It's 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% a range of other grapes. Stands up well to a serious Bordeaux.

Graham King: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and rarely a whole bunch of others. All the wines of this AOC are excellent. Some new world versions are very good too.

Graham King: The perfect aperitif wine. Light, sweet but not cloying or sugary, and full of flavour.
