Wadworth Henry's Original IPA photo
Graham King: Light, not much flavor, quite like tepid dish water. Nothing to write home about really.

Thwaite's Dark Mild photo
Graham King: Dark, slightly nutty flavor, almost like a watered down ruby porter. 3.2% alcohol, very easy drinking. Highly recommended, especially if you're planning on having a few.

Twice voted CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain.

Mars Magic photo
Graham King: Dark, smooth, slightly hoppy, easy drinking real ale. I had it on tap at the Magda, in Hampstead, London.

Graves Park photo
Graham King: HUGE park on the south side of Sheffield. There's a large farm where kids can feed and pet the animals, and a lot more besides. Nice views over the Derbyshire countryside. A great place to spend the day with the kids, if you happen to be in Sheffield.

Baddymarsh Farm B&B photo
Graham King: Three room bed and breakfast on a working farm, in beautiful countryside, near Great Malvern. Very well kept, tasty breakfast, quiet. It's one of those lovely B&B's run by the farmers wife, with great care and attention.

Ye Olde Red Lion photo
Graham King: Yes that's it's real name. A quaint (refurbished) old pub with old men, three taps of real ale, and delicious food. Well worth the detour.

Travelodge Chievely photo
Graham King: For a hotel in a motorway service station, it's ok. The sheets are scratchy and the mattress dusty, but it's otherwise clean and functional. Go there if you have to.

Coreff Blonde Bio photo
Graham King: Organic northern French lager. 5% alcohol. No nonsense, clean light taste. A good everyday choice.

La Crêpière photo
Graham King: French crepes (thin pancakes). I had a buckwheat (sarasin) one for main, with Reblochon, lardons, cream, onions and potatoes to start. For desert a sweet one slathered with Nutella. All of it washed down with copious dry cider (4.5% alcohol) served in little earthenware bowls. Delicious, and all very cheap.

The whole restaurant is run by a couple, the man in the kitchen and the woman somehow serving 10+ tables at once always with a smile.

It's on a pedestrian street on the edge of a pedestrian square, so great for kids, as they can run around outside without being in danger.

Soleil De Tunis photo
Graham King: Tunisien / French take-out with a few tables. Does couscous, panini, and "sandwich grecs" which are a kebab in a baguette, a very French snack. With chips. Great for lunch.

Huge portions, cheap prices, and even an authentically depressed Tunisien / French waiter. I'll be going back.

Graham King: Dark chocolate wrapped around a bitter lemon mousse. Intensely delicious.

Thoiry Animal Parc photo
Graham King: Safari style animal parc (stay in your car and drive through the animal enclosures), walk around zoo, and old French aristocracy home to visit.
The walk around zoo is not what is used to be, although it still has a fantastic tiger tunnel, a half-buried glass covered tunnel that runs through the tiger enclosure, which the trainers through meat onto at feeding time. Scary.
The drive around part is very good, has all the animals you'd expect, and they often block the road or come and lick your window.
Best place to see safari animals in the area.

Mas De Daumas Gassac photo
Graham King: This wine was mentioned in the movie Mondo Vino, and you should try it, if only to convince yourself that France can make very good wines outside the AOC system.
Legally this is sold a table wine, because it's not in a protected area. The wine maker is so passionate, and so grumpy in a French way, he's built up a following, and this is a pricey number.

I had the 2005 red. It's 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% a range of other grapes. Stands up well to a serious Bordeaux.

Ch'ti Blonde photo
Graham King: Northern French beer (Biere de Garde), 6.4% alcohol, silver medal at the 2010 Paris agricultural show. It should of been really good.

I found it too sweet on the tongue (has added glucose syrup), and a strong alcohol after-taste. Not my palette at all.
