After loving the first movie, this one was a bit of a disappointment for me. By necessity, both movies had to trim many of the subplots and secondary characters to stay in the 2 hour range.
In Dragon, this was done well and the remaining storyline was gripping and perfectly paced.
In Fire, so much of the story was left out or skimmed over that I felt like I was watching a Cliff Notes movie. If you loved the book (one of my favorites) you should see this movies regardless. But, for me, the bottom line is Fire was not as satisfying as Dragon.
