Malcolm Lewis: Great game for all ages. My daughter (7yo) was able to play along with the rest of us on a recent vacation and a good time was had by all.

How it works: Right off the top of your head, can you name a sport, an ice cream flavor, and something in a pet shop, all beginning with the letter B? The trick is to take on 12 categories in 3 minutes or less and not match anyone else's answers.

Malcolm Lewis: I do NOT recommend this Southwestern (Mexican!) restaurant in Kings Beach. Slow service (almost an hour to get our entree) and mediocre food.

North Shore Parasail photo
Malcolm Lewis: Our choice for parasailing over Lake Tahoe. It's a bit pricey but a great experience if you haven't done it before.

Malcolm Lewis: Decent food, nice rustic ambiance. All the usual suspects on the breakfast menu. VERY popular breakfast joint, so get there early - probably before 9am to avoid any wait. A decent choice if you are staying close by.
Kim LaFleur:
The food used to be really good. Wonder if it changed hands? Good to know. We usually find ourselves there for Spring Skiing and I don't think it's as busy.

Malcolm Lewis:
Yeah I thought the food was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. Next time you're up there, you might like to try the Cajun Eggs Benedict at The Log Cabin in Kings Beach. The rest of their menu is the usual stuff, but that Cajun dish is great. I think it was written up in Gourmet Magazine.

Carol Lewis:
Kim - there were TONS of people waiting to get in - so it has to be popular for a reason. Maybe we were there too early or didn't order well on the menu. Their home made raspberry coffee cake was really nice and they had a black berry turnover I wish I would have ordered!

Malcolm Lewis: Good location across a parking lot from the beach, so decent lake views, especially for sunset, and nice ambiance inside, but the food is average at best. You'll be fine if you just want a beer and burger, but don't expect much beyond that.
Paul Erickson:
Well now I have to rate it higher than that because I had the double mushroom burger. That's two 1/2 pound patties and it was delicious. Nothing left of it.

Rubicon Pizza Company photo
Malcolm Lewis: Located in the Village at Northstar. We sat outside across from the ice/roller skating rink. I can't vouch for the other pizzas, but my thin-crust pear and Gorgonzola pizza was excellent.
Kim LaFleur:
We ate there! It was freezing cold and we'd just finished ice-skating after a nice day on the slopes at Northstar. I actually think I chose the Pear-Gorgonzola Thin Crust myself and you're right it was fabulous. I need to experience Tahoe more in the Summer... I get there when it's snow packed.

Tahoe Adventure Company photo
Malcolm Lewis: Located in Tahoe Vista. Decent place to rent kayaks though I can't say we shopped around. We paid $25/hour for a two-person kayak. It's $15/hr for a one-person kayak. If you have the stamina, you can pay for two hours and get the third hour free.

Sand Harbor Beach photo
Malcolm Lewis: In my opinion, the best beach in Lake Tahoe. Actually several beaches in one. The smaller beach has a large, shallow bay that is perfect for paddling. Check out the photos on the main website. Plenty of parking, several bathrooms and a decent snack shop (Char Pit!) with burgers, sodas, shakes, ice cream and beer.

They have a Shakespeare Festival in the summer months, performed on an open-air stage with seating that overlooks the main bay.
Kim LaFleur:
Need to do this. Your Facebook pictures really made this beach look appealing!
