Malcolm Lewis: Wanna eat less and move more? Read on...

The tiny Fitbit is basically a pedometer on steroids. It measures your daily steps and calculates your daily calories burned. There's a nice website that displays the activity data for you and allows you to keep a food diary so you can also track calories burned. As anyone with an ounce of sense knows, weight control boils down to balancing calories in versus calories out. Here's my public page as an example of some of the info tracked on the website: http://www.fitbit.com/user/....

There's also a small display on the tracker itself and a WiFi base station that automatically updates tracker data anytime you're close to your computer.

I don't get too pedantic about using the food diary, for example I'll often guestimate calories for a home-cooked meal, but it's surprising how many of the foods you eat can be found in the food database or online in other food databases.

Overall, I've found that this gadget definitely gets me off my feet more during the day, and the food diary is making me think twice about that third margarita on an evening.

Ian Mercer: This is a great little underwater camera costing less than many underwater housings. It shoots great shots both underwater and above water and I’m constantly surprised by just how good many of the shots look even when compared to my 70-200 f2.8 IS lens.

Also fairly happy with the video. Not HD but has good image stabilization.

Graham King: Waterproof. That's the main plus. Takes good videos, light, compact and easy to use. My 2 year old can use it.

On the negative side it is _terrible_ for static pictures, because very hard to hold steady, and the shutter response take 2-3 seconds.

If you need an affordable compact waterproof (and snow-proof) video camera this is a decent choice. But get a separate static camera.

Sounds like the Canon D10 is pretty good for waterproof: http://www.fablistic.com/ia...

Malcolm Lewis: For iPods etc. Amazingly powerful sound for $150. Looks like a small guitar amp. We bought it to play music at a kids party in a local school gymnasium. Worked like a charm.

Malcolm Lewis: I'm on my second in 4 years. Not quite as cool as a Mac, but Windows is the devil i know so the coolest PC is the Sony Vaio imo. Also been very reliable.

Robyn Kagayaki: What did we ever do before the iPhone? I'm lost without mine! I advise getting the service warranty as well. Only top notch customer service from Apple!

Malcolm Lewis: This is the Porsche of clock radios. Built like a tank with an elegantly simple design. We got his and hers. A bit more than your average clock radio, but you get what you pay for and this will last you 10+ years.
